RealBody > The Golden Gate Bridge from Hawk Hill

We spent the day in Larkspur and Sausalito before making the trek to find sunset views of the San Francisco Golden Gate from Hawk Hill and Vista Point. The view was spectacular on this early August evening as the moon was just beginning to rise above the city as the sun set on the Golden Gate.

The view from this "can't miss" panoramic span of the bridge was filled with a variety of watchers, photographers, and photographic gear of all kinds. One young couple had walked down past the No Trespassing sign on the old fence to enjoy the spectacular scene uninterrupted from the ledge 25 feet or so below.

You can see the moon beginning to rise on the left side of the city behind the bridge as the falling sun filled the rest of the sky with transitioning shades of blue and red.

A mixture of fading and oncoming lights surrounded the bridge as the sun was setting and a full moon rising. Bridge lights, car, boat, and city lights added to the panoramic mystery of the San Francisco Bay view from the hill.
RealBody > Highlight in Fading Light: Setting Sun and Life Transition

Ben's dream of one day visiting Northern California was fulfilled as we traveled to familiar sites across the Bay Area I once had taken for granted as a long time native resident (back in the old Hollywood B movie actor/governor Reagan days before the big quake and later Kali-for-nya Governator moved into town).

Our trip represented a transition from past to present in many ways -- from the intertwining of school days and familiy ties to graduations and moving hundreds of miles away to begin an exciting venture of study, friendships, life choices and self-discovery.
